Black, white and bright lips

It's been incredibly warm February and the unusually high temperatures are meant to stay (yay!). Meaning gone are warm coats, in are blazers and light jackets. Longer length skirts are perfect for now, because you can get away with not wearing tights, but the look isn't too summery. I've got a few flowy ones from ASOS and definitely want to get some more as they are so versatile and easy to wear.
Skirt, top and boots ASOS, blazer and earrings New look, bag (further reduced!) Dolce and Gabbana, sunglasses Dior, rings YSL, watch Michael Kors, necklace Kurt Geiger. Lips Nars Schiap.

Have a stylish day.

Dolce & Gabbana SS 12

It's become a norm, that the Dolce and Gabbana fashion show is closed with a parade of models wearing not their last outfit, but all in something sexy yet powerful. It's a spectacular finale and and it gives you an idea what a show it must have been. This year's jewelled bodysuits further prove that. And what a show it was!
Following up on yesterday's post and confirming from the masters of Italian fashion the trends are as follow (plus few ideas how you can update your wardrobe with DIY):
Prints: D&G got inspired in the garden. So apart from all the traditional ones, make sure you go for prints of onions, peppers, aubergines and more. It's vegetable heaven and a good way how to get your five a day.
Big earrings: and by big I mean the bigger the better. Apart from vegetables you can cook your own original creations using pasta tubes and other shapes. It's all about having fun.
Crochet: brush up your skills. It's time for crocheting and application of bits onto your clothes. Finish the look with a wicker basket.
Bejewelled clothing: it's time to sparkle. Keep the silouetthes simple but make sure you are covered in gems and beads.
Yes it's shaping up to be a good season so make sure have good time dressing up and get inspired by everything around you. Who knew onions could be sexy..
Have a stylish day.

D&G SS 12 at Milan Fashion Week

The sad news is, today's collection of D&G was their last ever. It's going to become a part of Dolce and Gabbanna. The good news is, they finished on a high note. It was without a doubt their best D&G show. It was youthful, it was colourful, it was fun.
There were a lot of printed scarves, tied around as skirts, tops, even vertiginous wedges, that I'm dying to own. On the opposite there were flat gold sandals (just as good) with flowing maxi dresses and flowing hair. Earrings and necklaces were big, clutches either oversized or very tiny. And the colours. There were lots of them, in clashing prints, all looking summery. Let's hope the weather will be with us next year.
Have a stylish day.

Stylish homes - dress up your Iphone/Ipad

(The regular feature is back!) Let's face it. To be without modern technology these days is unthinkable. I can't imagine my life without iPhone any more (whatever we did before them!) and I finally gave in to iPad too and getting it this week. In the business of blogging, and any other business for that matter, you have to keep up with what's going on and these gadgets are simply essential. Good news is that the designers want us to remain stylish in every aspect of our lives, therefore there has been a boom in accessories for technology. The selection is amazing and you can really match it to your wardrobe. It won't surprise you that I bought a pink croc leather iPhone cover by Mulberry (it's sold out now!) and I'm already planning how I'm going to dress up my IPad.
Here's a little selection of covers for both iPad and iPhone and also couple for Blackberry (not to make them feel left out).
You can buy all the following at net-a-porter.com including some Mulberry ones, and the rest at Mulberry.com. So which is your favourite? It's hard to pick..
Have a stylish day.

Masters of Style at Somerset House

As promised last week, I am reporting from the latest exhibition at Somerset House. Masters of Style is a collection of images of world famous Italian fashion brands, looking at their history through past campaigns, editorials etc. For each designer there is a screen showing their AW fashion show, so if you haven't seen the images yet, you can check out what's arriving into the stores about now and in upcoming weeks.
Each image has a little comment from the designers or Colin McDowell, who curated the exhibition. One photo looks better than the other. It gives you a great insight into the brand's history and philosophy. It's so inspiring and well presented. I absolutely loved it! You get a little booklet too, which has a lot of information and is nice addition to my fashion books collection.
Although photography is not allowed, I managed to  sneakily take few pics with my iPhone to give you an idea what to expect. If you get a chance, go check it out as it really is good.
Have a stylish day.

Stylish day out

(image: courtesy of Gucci - from official Somerset House website)
I am very excited because as you may know I love a good exhibition. Going to galleries and museums is one of my favourite pass times. Tomorrow is the opening of a very appealing project: Masters of style: Celebrating the Stories behing Italian Fashion. I love Italy and its fashion and can't wait to check this out next week and of course tell you all about it. The exhibit is looking at defining moments from advertising campaigns of the biggest Italian fashion houses: Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Ferragamo, Gucci, Missoni and Prada will all showcase a personally hand-picked selection of images from their collections and archives, bringing to life iconic style moments and offering an insight into the passion and influences behind their work. Sounds interesting? Well what are you waiting for! The exhibit runs from tomorrow until 14 August at the wonderful Somerset House. I can't imagine a more stylish day out, especially if you go shopping afterwards :)

Have a stylish day.

Dolce and Gabanna AW 11

Definitelly in my top five Milan collections, Domenico Dolce and Stephano Gabanna delivered another spectacular show. The collection is full of beautiful feminine dresses, that just ooze sex appeal, also lots of masculine looks done in a very cool way. Stars were the main print, so prepare to shine, as I bet this will get copied all over high street. The colour palette consisted of mostly black, midnight blue and white, with the odd splash of brigh hues. Very very good collection. Well done boys.
Have a stylish day.

Milan Fashion Week - Gucci AW 11

I haven't even properly reviewed London Fashion Week yet  (I'm going to come back to it), but Milan Fashion Week started yesterday and two collections already caught my attention. And what collections they were! Gucci's 90th anniversary show yesterday was one of the best so far of them all. And today's D&G seems like one of my favourites as well from what I saw on twitter. Can't wait to check out the proper pictures. More about that tomorrow, today I'm going to praise Frida Giannini.
I wrote not so long about how she slowly won my heart and this season I only fell in love with her further more. The collection is sexy, sophisticated, luxurious.. those are just few superlatives that can describe it. You can expect python print (amazing!), fur, feathers... This collection truly has something for everyone. I love the use of colour and can't wait to be very colourful in the upcoming seasons. SS 11 biggest trend continues and I'm ready to embrace it fully. No wonder than that my favourite collections so far apart from Gucci are Sass and Bide (read my review here) and forementioned D&G.
Have a stylish day.
