Off duty look

Working in creative industry means I can wear pretty much everything, so there isn't really off duty look, but this one is a bit too casual, I'd normally reserve it to the beach or going to park on one of these hot summer days.
This dress holds a great memories for me. I bought it on my first trip to NYC (hopefully there will be more trips) on another hot day in Abercrombie and Fitch. It's very lightweight and super comfy, therefore perfect for the heatwave.
Hat, sunglasses, rings and New icons bracelet all H&M, bag Jacobs by Marc Jacobs,
sandals BHS, watch Michael Kors.

Have a stylish day.

InstaMonday

1. Love that these have been my daily essentials. Marc by Marc Jacobs beach bag and new H&M mirrored sunglasses
2. New business cards. I love chevron. What do you think?
3. I love USA, hoping to live there one day and wore patriotic colours on July 4th. (They're colours of Czech flag too).
4. Throw back Thursday in honour of Independence day.
5. Summer outfits often contain strapless mini dresses, comfy flats and in this case Chloe sunglasses (sunglasses are one of my fave accessories and I will never have enough.)

Have a stylish day.

The return of the mule

In fashion, some things come and go, some never really leave and become timeless classics and some come back, maybe slightly unexpectedly. Take a mule for example. After years and years of stilettos and highest of highs platforms, this seems sudden. Out of a blue comes a return of shoe that many fear wearing. They don't offer that much support and make noises when walking in them. But it makes sense. With the boom of super feminine clothes and lady-like glamour many styles of shoes may be too harsh. It's nostalgia in many shapes and forms. Don't worry though that sky high pumps will disappear, they are still a big hit. But when the likes of Miuccia Prada (both for Prada and Miu Miu) and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton decide to bring back mules, some changes in footwear are to be expected. And whith the styles they showed, I'm quite excited. Are you? Will you wear mules?

Vintage Sunday - Dior at Vogue

The name on everyone's lips for quite a while now has been Dior. With no official announcement made yet about the next creative director, there have been countless of speculations. The latest, Marc Jacobs, seems close to the truth, especially after the news that Louis Vuitton is planning a retrospective exhibition about Jacobs' era at the French house. Seems like a nice leaving present.. If the rumours are true remains to be seen.
For me I loved Galliano at Dior and thought he was perfect for the label and as much as I like Jacobs, can't imagine him there. But what do I know? It may work out amazingly.
For a Vintage Sunday, I am bringing the original Christian Dior creation in Vogue 1952. Isn't it beautiful? Enjoy.

Party feet - block heels round 2

I told you recently about my new obsession with block heeled shoes. Well I couldn't help but bring you round two of block heeled beauties from net-a-porter. I've already bought a couple and let me tell you, they are the most comfortable! Plus they look really cool. They go well with wide leg trousers for the 70s vibe or with shorter length skirts for added glamour. The possibilities are endless.
How cool are the yellow Charlotte Olympia - great way to add colour to your wardrobe. The Marc Jacobs pair is very sexy, with the snake round your ankles. Animal print is timeless, great versions by Alaia and Michael Kors. Which is your favorite?

Vintage Sunday - by Peter Lindbergh

It was one of the last shows of Paris fashion week, that caused quite a stir. Marc Jacobs created raunchy collection for Louis Vuitton. It had mixed reviews. The most talked about moment was Kate Moss, closing the show in a rather revealing outfit puffing on a cigarette. The question asked was, is this promoting smoking?
My today's Vintage Sunday is a photo from 1991 Elle editorial photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Models looking very glamourous whilst enjoying their nicotine fix, shows, using cigarettes in fashion is nothing new. But is that ok? Is it promoting smoking or does it just make a good effect? Let me know what you think.
By the way, I'm a non-smoker who despises the bad habit, but love this photograph.

Kate Moss - from model to style icon

Third post of my style icon's feature goes to Kate Moss. Now thinking about it, maybe she should have been first. Although there is no order in which way I'm gonna introduce who I consider style icons, Kate is definitely at the top of the list. Turning from skinny teenage model discovered by the late Corine Day, her career reached stratosferic heights. She was named the best dressed by Vogue. Not only she gets paid loads of money for ad campaigns, she still once in a while walk the catwalk for the likes of Marc Jacobs or Alexander McQueen, she had a very succesful string of collections of Topshop, which she decided to stop now, but won fans all over the world, has  a perfume under her name and the list continues. Everything she touches turns into gold. And not even the infamous cocaine story could harm her in any way. No. She managed to come out as a winner even back then. It's her personality people admire but especially her style. Whether it's her festival fashion that gets copied all over the world or her every day choices she can do no wrong. Let's wish her continuous success and get inspired by her.
Have a stylish day.

Keep warm with Marc Jacobs coats

Every winter I face the same problem. I can never find a fab coat that is stylish and practical. I'd rather be cold than looking like I'm wearing a sack, therefore that's what often happens. I AM cold! But things are looking up for next year, thanks to Marc Jacobs. After watching his New York AW'10 show, I feel very positive. He used loads of fur on coats and sweaters and I absolutely love it! These beauties will keep you warm without losing your fashion creds. Exciting!

summer wedges

I am already thinking about summer and my new wardrobe. I seriously can't wait for what I'm hoping will be a very hot summer and wearing some strapless dresses and strappy sandals. What I'll most definitely be buying is a pair of new wedges. I love them every season of the year, but in the warmer months, they are the most usefull, because of the comfort. I checked the web for inspiration and this is what I've discovered so far. Hope you like them as much as I do.
Have a stylish day.
